Are you Speaking Up about your anxiety? Why Not?

Over the last 6 months I noticed that people with depression are being encouraged to speak up. But I have found that it is not the case for you if you have anxiety.

From Beyond Blue’s website on anxiety, they state:

Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in Australia. On average, one in four people – one in three women and one in five men – will experience anxiety at some stage in their life. In a 12-month period, over two million Australians experience anxiety.

Anxiety is common, but the sooner people with anxiety get support, the more likely they are to recover.

According to the website: www.mindframe-media.info/,

A national survey showed that 35% of people with a mental disorder had used a health service and 29% consulted a GP within the 12 months before the survey.

This implies that only 1/3 of people get help with mental illness, which includes anxiety.

Please watch my video on Speaking up about your anxiety, so the sooner people with anxiety get support, the more likely they are to recover.
